Chapter 1 - A Hint of Blue

            It was quiet, the quiet of a tight house long asleep.  From an unfathomed distance an opening sound reached the boy in his bed.  Reddish light flashed from the crack beneath his closet door and winked out.  Then there came a scuffling, a shuffling, and a muffled thumping as of some misshapen thing coming down a long corridor. 
            The boy's eyes shot open. 
            Muffle thump, muffle thump went the closet.
            The boy caught his breath, heart beating fast and hard. 
            Then, silence.

Main Illustrator: Justin Gerard  spent most of his childhood drawing imaginative characters informed by comic books, science fiction, and Disney films. As his art developed, Gerard found inspiration in N.C. Wyeth, Carravaggio, Peter de Seve, and Carter Goodrich. He is known far and wide as a vagabond and scoundrel. He lives in Greenville, SC and works as the Chief Creative Officer for Portland Studios. He holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Studio Art.
